Debbie Smith CTE Academy houses the following nine academies:
- Practical Nursing and Nursing Assistant: These programs prepare students for entry into the healthcare field. Completing both didactic coursework and clinical practicum qualifies students for the Nevada State Board of Nursing certifying exams as Practical Nurses and Nursing Assistants, respectively.
- Building Construction and Technology: This program provides students the opportunity to develop technical skills that are used throughout the construction industry. Areas of study include safety, blueprint reading, carpentry and rough framing, exterior finishing applications, surveying, site development, scaffolding, electrical, plumbing, concrete, and masonry.
- Bio-Medical: The Biomedical program provides students with the knowledge and skills in inquiry science, disease exploration, human body systems, and biomedical engineering. Areas of study include infectious and genetic diseases, molecular biology, oncology, metabolism, homeostasis, and exercise physiology.
- Marketing and Multimedia: Learn fundamental marketing and business principles, covering economic systems, business fundamentals, marketing strategies, product management, promotion, pricing, professional selling, and multimedia content creation using industry-standard software.
- Natural Resources and Animal Sciences: Students will learn sustainable resource management, conservation practices, and animal care through hands-on activities and field experiences.
- Welding and Metalworking: Explore fabrication, welding techniques, blueprint reading, and safety protocols. Gain practical experience in cutting, shaping, and joining metals and valuable technical skills, problem-solving abilities for the metalworking industry.
- Teaching and Training: The Teaching and Training program covers essential educational principles, focusing on human development, teaching methods, and learning processes for educational settings. It includes designing age-appropriate activities, implementing safety protocols, understanding legal obligations, and interacting with preschool students to support their development.
- Engineering and Manufacturing: These programs cover essential aspects of engineering and manufacturing, including safety, design processes, materials, power systems, statistics, print reading, mechanical and electrical systems, additive and subtractive processes, electronics basics, quality control, and introductory robotics.
- Culinary with Hospitality and Tourism: This program teaches key skills for commercial food production, including food handling, cooking methods, kitchen safety, and sanitation. It also explores hospitality career paths in travel, tourism, hotel management, food service, and event sales.
