Traditional students graduating from a public, private, or charter high school in the state of Nevada must meet the following requirements to qualify for the scholarship:

• Graduate with an overall GPA of 3.25 (weighted or unweighted) or earn a qualifying test score on the SAT (1070 or higher) or ACT (21 or higher).

• Complete while in high school, 4 years of English, 4 years of Math (including Algebra II or higher), 3 years of science, and 3 years of history.

• Be a resident of Nevada for at least two years.

Tuition Coverage: Can cover up to three years of community college tuition and fees for eligible students. 

Mentorship Program: Students are assigned a mentor and must meet with them to receive the scholarship. 

Community Service: Students must complete a set number of community service hours to maintain eligibility. 

Last Dollar Scholarship: It pays for tuition and mandatory fees that remain after all other gift aid (like Pell Grants or private scholarships) has been applied.  Books and other materials are not covered by the scholarship and may require separate funding.

Eligibility Requirements 

Nevada Residency: Students must be residents of Nevada.

Graduation: Must have a high school diploma or GED.

Age: Generally for students not yet 20 years old.

FAFSA: You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Community Colleges: Must attend a Nevada community college.

Enrollment: Typically requires enrollment in at least 12 credits.

“TMCC Foundation Scholarship” is an umbrella term used for all of the scholarships managed by the TMCC Foundation. Each scholarship has its own unique name and eligibility criteria.

Most scholarships do not require applicants to answer additional essay questions, so they are not individually visible in the application. Instead, the information you provide in your TMCC Foundation Scholarship Application, along with your MyTMCC account details, is used to automatically match you with eligible opportunities.

Some scholarships do require additional essays. When applying for those, be sure to read the description carefully to confirm you meet the qualifications.
